the day the end finally came

i’ve been really obsessed with victorian horse drawn hearses lately don’t ask me why but i guess it’s just something we don’t see these days. but after a quick goggle search you can still can find this service, i wonder if my accidental death insurance would cover this? anyway i think i’m going to get one of these as a tattoo sometime soon.

a hundred years on the eastern shore

so i’ve been wanting to try the dogfish head squall ipa since i first read about it in the beer advocate a few months ago but with none to be found in boston i knew i’d have to head north to portland, maine and stop in at novare res bier garden to quench my thirst. my review is simple and to the point cause since i can’t really stand beer folk jargon. if there was a dogfish head 75 minute ipa this would be it, smooth like the 60 min but the bite of the 90 min with out the strong alcohol after taste. i loved every sip and if you can locate it do so and cheers!

i found this great antique 48 star flag (1912-1959) in maine on my last trip home it was only $12 and has the perfect amount of character from years of being proudly displayed. i also love that the original owner added a 49th star pin for alaska when it gained statehood in 1959.

howlin’ at the moon

SDC10261SDC10267

this past friday my girl and i made the journey down to brooklyn, ny so we could receive a few matching tattoo’s from the gentleman tattoo artist bailey hunter robinson at saved tattoo. the shop and bailey were so relaxed and made you feel at home it was a great time and we can’t wait to go back.
after our tattoo’s we took a quick ride back into the city via the l train and we checked out angelica’s kitchen man i’m not even vegan but this place was so amazing, i’ve never had vegan food bursting with so much flavor and filled me up and not in the bogged down heavy way food like that can. definitely worth checking out if your in the area.

Last weekend while back at home visiting and driving out in the sticks of central Maine (Livermore Falls I think) we stumbled upon a one man flea market under a few shanty tents, many gems were discovered including this one. A Maine Masonic Grand Lodge Certificate etched in 1897 and dated in pen to a member of the lodge in 1937. I’m going to have glass put in the frame and fix it up a bit but other wise very amazing and only $5.

old man look at your life…

So I found this on ebay recently and price wasn’t much of a concern, I’ve been looking for a epic convex mirror with a excellent photo for some time and when I saw this I know instantly I must have it.
The outer frame measures 18″ long & 15″ wide, The old man in the picture is hand tinted in blacks, grays & off whites. Not sure of age but the man’s clothing indicate early 1900′s.
I can’t wait to hang this in my new office.
